Foothill Fence was a dream of owner Carl Arentz that started in the 1980’s. The company went into business in April of 2000, but wasn’t officially named until February of 2002.

The name comes from Carl's love of the San Gabriel Mountains. The foothills where he played as a child, and works today with volunteer organizations to help preserve and maintain them.

Carl stumbled into the fence industry by accident in 1980, and found that he liked it and was pretty good at it. He was fortunate to have learned the trade from true craftsman who took pride in their work, and taught how to do the job right.

In the 30 years he's been in the business, Carl has worked for many companies. From the smallest Ma and Pa types to the largest in Southern California. This has allowed him to choose the best each has to offer and build his own business into what he believes is the best in the business.

Foothill Fence is small enough to have that personal touch and large enough to handle any residential or commercial project. Each crew has a foreman present at all times, all employees speak English, and Carl, the owner, is always available to his customers.

Foothill Fence's mission is to take the stress out of hiring a contractor and make it a pleasant experience. Foothill Fence has chosen to strive to be the best, rather than the biggest, which puts them head and shoulders above the rest.
